David and Abbey were packed and ready to make their way to the airport when the hotel phone rung. It was Minos, Sophia’s ‘brother in law’ and his voice bellowed in panic as soon as david answered.
“Mr Clark - I went to the house this morning and Sophia is gone…. “
and he began sobbing from his heart breaking he went on
“Stevos is dead, Mr Clark… I found him. I don’t know what to do”
David took it all in in absolute bewilderment.
“Have you contacted the authorities?’
“No, I don’t know why, but I called you first.”
“Good” said David. “Do nothing and touch nothing we will be right there.”
After getting Abbey up to speed, David phoned Rocko who was about to make his way to Cusco and diverted him from the airport. Thirty minutes later all three were standing with Minos in the small front room of Sophia’s home. Many of her clothes had gone but it was obvious the home had been cleared in a rush. It was like teh scene of a burglary.
Abbey had immediately run to the room where Stevos was and found the machine had been turned off. He lay in a state that immediately indicated to Abbey that his soul was free to return to heaven. He looked almost at peace.
“Mr Minos” David spoke while securing the old mans shoulder with a caring hand and wondering how much more his heart could take. “I think we all realise that Sophia may not have been the person you thought, but we need to find out who she was and why she ran. She had been cleared by the authorities for killing John, so at this point I am as confused as you, but I can tell you that if this was abduction, there would have been nothing packed at all. So I am afraid she was not taken she left.”
Turning to Abbey she saw the light go on in Abbey’s eyes. He adored how bright she was. He had never seen this level of genius in any other being.
“David, the shot she fired at John. It makes sense now.”
“What do you mean?” said Rocko.
“She pulled out that old gun before we could stop her and it was a clean shot, right through the eye. An eye for an eye. She didn’t shake or have any recoil issues. Oh my god, why did not I see it earlier, even the Eagle missed it in the confusion. She is trained at weapons and she is a crack shot.”
“What?” spat Minos “I don’t understand. I knew Sophia almost my whole life.”
“Yes Mr Minos, you knew Sophia, the mother, the victim, but what if all of that was contrived. You could tell John knew the truth in his last moments. He knew her as more than his mother.”
“We need to get answers and fast.” David interjected. “Goodness knows where she is. Every moment counts.”
David, Rocko and Abbey began a thorough search of the house. Minos had collapsed on the couch murmuring to himself and crying. Rocko couldn’t help himself. His trip to see the lady of his affections in Peru was now on hold so he thought he would seek out Sohpias hidden Ouzo. It occurred to him as he went to the draw that she could take her shots of Ouzo pretty well for an old woman. He fossicked in the draw. In it was the drawer that contained the photo of the family she had shown them and a few bits and pieces, but as he searched the back of the drawer for the bottle he realised the draw didn’t look or feel quite right. Rocko pulled it out and started to bend it trying to see what it was that had taken his curiosity.
The draw indeed did have a false bottom and when he pried it open, several old papers fell out. Rocko picked them up and in a glance his brow furrowed and he forgot all about the Ouzo.
“David, Abbey… you are going to want to see this.”
David and Abbey crowded around the papers and took them in. The main document was a marriage certificate of her marriage to her husband. Attached to it was a photo of the young couple, now over forty years ago. There was Sophia, a blonde haired beauty, athletic and confidant as a bride. Abbey spoke up first.
“I know you saw it David, her maiden name… it’s Black!”
“How could we have missed this.” David cried out. “She’s one of them. She’s part of it. She married him to be close. She is part of this….wow.”
“She was one smart old bag.” Rocko chirped almost enjoying the game that he saw unfold in front of him.
“She tied up all the loose ends, Stevos, John, and probably others we will never come to know about. We won’t find her. I guarantee she is on no commercial flight. She’s gone to her father, wherever he is. I’ll bet she doesn’t even look like Sophia, probably that whole old lady thing was a ruse she carried on for years.”
“It is true.” Minos had stopped sobbing. “About fifteen years ago, she seemed to almost age overnight. She looked entirely different, but I didn’t see her that regularly and with all she had been through I just accepted sometimes she looked a little better than others.”
“Don’t worry Mr Minos” Abbey said. “She is a highly experienced double agent. These people carry on these guises for decades before they strike.”
“But why…” Chimed Rocko “What’s this about?”
David had been looking to the heavens in deep thought and now his eyes turned to Rocko’s. He stepped toward Rocko and placed his hand on his shoulders.
“Because my old friend. We have been duped. It’s all a lie. It’s been a lie since Constantine and we fell for it, but it was so good most people draw a dead end. But you see, we had actually uncovered the truth. We just hadn’t seen it yet, but in the hours, days, or weeks to come we would have worked it out. Abbey would have put two and two together about the shot. We would have uncovered more as we wrote up our notes. Rocko old pal; I have to admit. It’s brilliant. The lineage of Jesus is all a lie. Propageted all those years ago, it has fired the imaginations of many people, because they wanted Jesus to have a child. Everyone from Hughes De Payan the great Templar master to Dan Browne the novelist. We all wanted it to be true, but it isn’t.”
Rocko looked at David and squinted his eye, noticing David still had his hands on his shoulders.
“How do you know this now? What makes you sure?”
“Because…” David drew breath. “Even you said it a week or so ago. You said, what if you were the lineage to Jesus? That’s it. Everyone want’s hope and what greater hope than there to be a lineage of Christ and maybe its even in your blood line.”
Rocko just stared at him. David smiled and went on.
“You see the way control works in through fear and confusion. The families create fear, through media, war, economic collapse and the greatest inspirer of all - our own personal faiths. Yet if there is no slight hope, then there is no point. We become less than human, machines and that doesn’t lead to progress, productivity and even stimulation for those in power. They have so much power that they have to create chaos and fear but also hope to drive people. This is what Alexander the Great did in 333BC and it’s what Black has done now. Rocko, Jesus and Mary never married and they never had a child.”
OK, said Rocko, “Keep going, Im getting it, but there has to be proof.”
“There is, and it’s so profound that none of us saw it at all. You see in 1945, when the Nag Hammadi library was found in Egypt in clay pots in the desert, there were the missing books of the bible, maybe not even all of them. But Constantine had edited these gospels out of our bible in Nicaea in 326AD and yet they turn up. A monk of the time must have hidden them from destruction. Even in the gospel of Phillip and the most earliest gospel of Thomas, that which is earlier than any contained in the bible, where Thomas relates 114 direct quotes from Jesus. There is nothing, and I mean nothing about Jesus having a child, or even he and Mary having a thing. It would be there if there was. We have been hoaxed, because we simply wanted to believe.”
Rocko stopped for a minute and then taking Davids hands off his shoulders he said:
“But wouldn’t they just hide the child. It would be a big secret and the Romans would have wanted that child.”
“But in the uncanonised gospils, including those found at Nag Hammadi, Mary goes on to be a teacher and healer. There is no mention of her with child or being away at all. She gets into conflict with Peter, who doesn’t believe women should be involved in the church. Surely he would has disfamed her by mentioning the child at the least, but these writings clearly say nothing more than she was a favourite of Jesus.”
Abbey put her hand up almost as a child would.
“Boys - I think this may help”
They both turned and in Abbey’s possession was a very old photo, well over a hundred years old. The photo showed the discoverer of the Knossos Palace and Tripartite Shrine, Arthur Evans smiling and holding a pot with a Chevron on it at teh dig site at the palace. david recognised it from being around 1903 and the discovery of the palace. Behind Evans there were paints and brushes set up in the traditional way. The back of the photo was inscribed: ‘We did it…. Arthur.’
David quickly grabbed his phone and googled Evans. After five minutes he turned back to the group. Rocko had been back hunting the Ouzo. Abbey was outside and came in when he called.
“Evans was educated at Harrow and Oxford. his best friend’s surname is the same as one of the 13 families. It is said he was a genius. He had no children. I think he was a puppet recruited to continue the legend. In the end they knighted him. Now that would have a way of keeping someone quiet.” David spoke with authority.
Abbey looked up and said. “I’ve just been on the phone to Stacey. I asked about the Chevron and Talpiot as that is the symbol I see on this pot that Evans has forged.. Stacey says that with the V upside down it means divine masculine and is the earliest description of the eye of Horus the most sacred symbol of all, and that it was regularly put on anyone of any significances tomb, royals, dignitaries and in this case even Jesus. It appears the families just used what was obvious. Because when it was so obvious it would keep us searching. It’s not that special after all.”
“That is why when the Talpiot Tomb was found their luck held and the Chevron was there. It was always likely to be and I’ll bet if we look at the funding of that dig, the same old friends names will pop up.”
“I think I get it.” said Rocko. “Ever since I was a child growing up in the Italian neighbourhoods in New York, my mother told me Jesus was special, the son of God, I always prayed to him, and he always answered. As I grew I just got too old for this and stopped. But at the time, I mean when I was seven or eight, he was as real to me as you guys.”
“In the end” said David “We see what we wish to see. I’m sure jesus was real to you. There have been times in mylife when I have prayed to him for his protection or guidance and it has always worked. You see, God is within all of us and we are simply part of his divine plan. If there was a family lineage, why has it had to be so protected for centuries. And why couldn’t Jesus have been celibate too. Millions in history have been, and what the bible says about the second coming says nothing about that occurance being a direct human relation to Jesus. I guess we are never meant to know and I’m good with that.”
Abbey smiled and took David by the arm. “Sophia’s gone, John’s gone and Black is gone. We are safe. We are done here. Mission Complete as my dad would say. Let’s get Minos to his friends and family, let’s let the local police know and take care of Stevos and let’s get to Egypt. I need that holiday now and Rocko needs that girl.”
David looked around the old house. In shamanism the house is a representation of the soul. He knew it was a facade, and in this case Sophia had been part of the greatest facade of human history that had sent many wise men on quests of pointless wastes of time, resources and even life itself.
He breathed a sigh. He had found the truth and the truth had delivered to him the most beautiful woman, the one of his dreams, the one he would be with forever.
It had been a stunning quest.

On a lavish Island on the coast of Sweden Percival Karlsson AKA Mr Black was getting to grips with his new personality and hermit lifestyle. Later that day his own daughter, whom he had not seen in over twenty years would be arriving from Crete.
The staff were very wary of their new master. He seemed impatient, distracted and exhausted. He had asked to be left alone with all his services being completed invisibly. He simply sent a note of what he wanted them to do and it was done, just the way he liked it. He didn’t like people.
Black sat in a large chair and on the desk in front of him was an ancient scroll in a glass case. It had been his prized possession, his whole life, since he had risen to the top of the families and assumed it’s care. It stared back at him as a memory of the millions of people that he had killed in his lifetime for many reasons, wars and rouses. He picked up the seventeen hunderd year old case and studied the seal of the Holy Roman Emperor Constantine.
He then picked up the translation he carried with him for over fifty years.
He had read those first few lines thousands of times. Today it meant something different.
We the representation of God on Earth must contain a great secret and in our ministry of the teachings of Jesus we must come together as one. The world cannot handle that Jesus of Nazareth, our lord and saviour was crucified and rose again. As time marches on we too will become legend, yet the faith must be kept. Egypt fell when in the end it’s so called Gods could no longer protect it from the truth, our truth. To inspire faith we have necessity to arrange the greatest lie. I will write a sacred document which will be held by the man in office of the highest esteem in the new Church. This document is the greatest lie. The lie that Jesus and Mary Magdelene were with child will be searched for in history. It will divert many of our enemies to prove that we were wrong instead of simply attacking us. We must allow this as it is the only way to have their evil controlled. Good will always fight evil and this fight will last the eons of time, and strengthen our position. It is of the greatest urgency that we destroy the unnecessary gospels and with that set the people free. Only in faith and fear will we have control and only while we have control will we be able to spread his word. The word of the lord.
The dissertation continued but Black had lost interest. He ruffled at his shirt collar and pulled out the solid gold depiction of Jesus on the Cross, which had hung from his neck his whole life and kissed it.
He thought back to the day he learnt that their whole scam of the child of Christ was shared with him by his father. Even in the 13 families it was only passed by secret initiation when one became the head, like the Roman emporers of old opened the secret box and learnt the ancient wisdom only for their position. He had kept that secret from teh most pwerful men on earth, and he had chosen his daughter to protect it for over forty years living in near poverty in Greece.
He then took the papers and the scroll itself and slowly walked to the bristling fire in the huge gothic fireplace that adorned his private study. Looking into the flames he whispered. “You have kept us in control for 2,000 years and I have been your faithful servant Constantine, but it is gone. The world must know the truth of Jesus and when it does, there will be no need for our control. We have profited become powerful from this lie, keeping enemies entranced in it’s protection and away from our dealings, but it is time. What I have is gone, what we all have is gone. God help me and what I have done. I have failed you. We were wrong.”
With that he cast it all into the fire, the ancient scroll smashing and turning to dust before the flames could even engulf it.
With that he sank wearily to his knees and sobbed.

The Gospel of Thomas - Discovered in Nag Hammadi Egypt in 1945 and published in 2007
And Jesus said: “Let him who seeks continue seeking until he finds. When he finds, he will become troubled. When he becomes troubled he will become astonished, and he will rule over all.
Six months after the University of Nova Scotia had tested Yanni and Stevos’ DNA, they concluded there was no direct relation of any surety to the DNA from the Talpiot Tomb.
Recent conclusions about the Talpiot Tomb have recalculated, based on 1st century statistics of popular names (of which Jesus was No# 9) that the chances of the tomb being that of Jesus of nazareth is only 600:1 or for those that want to believe that it is his tomb the numbers can be manufactured to 18:1 This is because of some conjecture over the name of Mary on the Ossaury was in in fact Mariamne.
